On November 12–13, 2025, Stara Glass proudly hosted the GlassTrend Autumn Meeting focused on Smart & Sustainable Glass Manufacturing in Genoa, Italy, welcoming the global glass community for two days of in-depth discussion, knowledge sharing and collaboration.

The event brought together more than 75 industry leaders — engineers, researchers, academics, technology providers and representatives from leading glass companies — with participants traveling from Europe, Japan and the United States. For two days, Genoa became the international capital of glass.

Real engineering challenges

The GlassTrend Autumn Meeting was not about generic visions, but about real-world challenges and concrete solutions. Discussions focused on the key drivers shaping the future of the glass industry, including decarbonization strategies, digitalization and next-generation furnace design.

Prestigious speakers shared ongoing projects, innovation roadmaps and operational insights, creating a highly technical and open environment where experience and expertise could be exchanged at a deep level. The quality of the discussions, the willingness to share knowledge and the collective ambition made this edition of GlassTrend particularly impactful.

A collaborative and international atmosphere

With about 90 participants over the two days, the meeting fostered strong interaction and networking, reinforced by informal moments that contributed to the collaborative spirit of the event. A convivial networking dinner, sponsored by the COREu project, further strengthened connections among participants and highlighted the importance of cooperation in accelerating the industry’s transition toward sustainability.

The event also offered participants a taste of the well-known Italian hospitality, creating a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere that many attendees highlighted as a key element of the overall experience.
